I am so lucky! After many happy and fulfilling years as an educator, I am currently in a position to pursue my interests in art. I find myself immersed in a community of talented artists, many of whom have become my good friends. I am very thankful for their inspiration, support, friendship, and for challenging me to paint every day in any way.
My interests are varied and I have been influenced by many genres and artists. Currently, the subjects of my paintings are inspired by the humbling colors and beauty of nature, the ever-changing weather and seasons of New England, and the occasional dramatic light that allows transcendence from an ordinary scene to one of extraordinary and breathtaking beauty. I also love to paint on non-traditional canvases including birch bark, stone, and glass.
My first love is pastel, but I have recently branched into watercolor, oil, and mixed media and I am intrigued by the endless possibilities in all mediums. Please feel free to contact me if you like my style and are interested in discussing potential classes or a commissioned painting. I offer evening classes and Saturday workshops. During weekdays, you can often find me in my studio at Western Ave Studios in Lowell. My studio is 418.
My studio is open during open studios the first Saturday of every month.
