I am part of a group show from the Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell who will be exhibiting artwork to represent “The Art Forger” by Barbara Shapiro.  A central character in the book is the Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum itself and the ongoing investigation of the 1990 art heist that stripped the Gardner of 13 painting valued at over $500 million dollars.

One of the Gardner’s most delightful features is a luscious central courtyard that is beautifully manicured and embellished with seasonal flowers. This painting depicts some boisterous chrysanthemum blooms overlooking the Medusa floor that dates back to the 2nd Century AD . In 1897, Isabella and her husband brought this floor from Rome to Boston where is stands as the centerpiece of the courtyard grounds.
