Down East Maine Island

This painting is done on a 6X6 ceramic tile. The medium is the fascinating and tricky to control alcohol ink, which features brilliant transparent colors. I have added archival ink to detail the painting a bit more.

“The Wave”

this painting is the last of the “30 paintings in Days” Challenge that I completed in January. It is inspired by the raw and unpredictable beauty of the New England beaches.

Yet again, I have painted Mink Island off of Bailey’s Cove in Lubec, Maine.  I began this painting as a demo for The Art Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley and finished it in the studio. I never tire of painting this scene! 12X16 Pastel

$495 Framed 18X24 Pastel

I painted this piece for recent two woman show called “Dual Interpretations” with my friend Paula Mingolelli. Paula and I selected several images and each painted them in our own style.  For the exhibition, we hung the reference photos next to our paintings and got great feedback from our viewers who enjoyed comparing the various interpretations.   It is always interesting to see how an artist chooses to interpret an image and transform the scene into a painting. 18X24 Framed Pastel
