This piece was painted in the Lowell Cemetery, a vast, and beautifully landscaped space in Lowell. James Cook Ayer was the wealthiest patent medicine businessman of his day and even had a  town named after him!

This statue is eight feet high and rests on a base 7×13 feet and weighs close to  twenty five tons.

This little painting was commissioned by a friend of MY friend Marie.  It is mounted at the top of an antique mirror. SO fun to paint.

Jake (26) and John (19) reminded me on several occasions that I had yet to have given them any of my paintings. I set out to create something meaningful (to them ) as gifts. “Celebration of Urban Exploration” was done for Jake… a tribute to some of his interesting explorations here and there…(A much longer story ensues….:-)

Can’t turn down an opportunity to enjoy an  antique house or barn. I’m a sucker for a “fixer upper”.  I always wonder what stories such buildings have to share.  It is always encouraging to see folks recognizing the beauty of older structures and investing their efforts into restoration. I hope that  this one survived.
